About Märt - passion for education
Märt is confident that we have all the means and knowledge available to significantly increase the quality of learning experience and provide access to education to everybody globally. Hence he is constantly seeking opportunities to make this happen.
Since 2004 Märt has co-founded 5 NGO’s and 4 companies for education development and been active on the boards of several organisations. For more details please visit LinkedIn.
Notable achievements
Märt co-authored the “Youth good ideas book” in 2005. The book brings together the life experiences of 40 leaders from around Estonia with the objective of inspiring youth to find their path.
In 2011 DreamApply.com student admission platform was launched to make student admission more accessible for students and more efficient for universities. Universities have reported up to 60% decrease in admin work after implementing the platform and more than 50% increase in international student applications. The platform has served over a million international students’ applications to full degree studies, student exchange, scholarship programmes and continues to grow.
In 2016 Märt co-founded the Nordic EdTech Forum - N8 which brings together 200 founders of EdTech startups from across 8 Northern European countries. The aim of the organisation is to enable peer-to-peer learning between the founders to improve the education development ecosystem in Northern Europe. Through these really great initiatives Märt has a multiplier effect in improving quality and accessibility of education globally. Read more about the necessity of innovating learning.
Märt is a big believer in cooperation. To improve learning it is essential to establish supportive and constructive atmosphere between key stakeholders for innovating education. To contribute to this he has given countless talks at conferences globally, including European Union and OECD conferences.
